CD and DVD Burning – Four Great Uses

CDs and DVDsIt used to be that creating CDs or DVDs was a very expensive process. Not anymore! Online printers offer CD & DVD duplication quickly and affordably. You simply send in your files and the online printing company will burn them on one or thousands of CDs. The service also includes CD cover printing for a professional look.

Here are four great ways to take advantage of online CD and DVD burning.

1. Photo backup – Digital cameras have the benefit of allowing us to take hundreds of pictures without paying developing costs. However, since we don’t have hard copies of those photos, we are totally reliant on the computer to keep copies of them safe. Since hard drives are not totally reliable, it is important to keep backups on CD or DVD. Easy reproduction also means that you can have photo CDs and DVDs produced for family as a way to share your photo collections.

2. Independent musicians – Every musician starting out wants to land a contract with a production company, but until then, it doesn’t mean that you can’t share your music and sell CDs. You can produce your album independently and then use an online printer to produce the CDs for you. They can feature your covers, printing on the disc, and content so they will look professional when you bring them to gigs to sell or ship them from selling them online.

3. Sharing home movies – Home movies take up a huge amount of space on your computer, which makes them too big to email. They can be uploaded to video websites, but this usually reduces the quality. If you want to share hours of home movies with friends and family, you can create a DVD using any video editing software and then order as many copies as you need. Even consider transferring videos from film or VHS (you can find local companies who will make this transfer for you), and then having DVDs printed for your family members to give as gifts.

4. Printing meeting materials – Meetings where participants have to carry around binders full of printed materials along with flyers and booklets. Instead of burdening them with heavy and expensive printing, create CDs or DVDs of all your meeting materials. They are easy to transport, they last longer, and they allow people to take advantage of all the useful computerized features for search and organization.
